Spring and Summer 2013
September 17th, 2013This blog is a recap of events during the Spring and Summer of 2013....wow time flies!!! We have been busy networking and sharing resources with various groups. In May we helped a Vet Tech find a rescue where she can volunteer (SAVE). We hope it is working out well! A donation of 50 dog vaccines was shared with a rescue (All About Animals NJ). We helped place an orphaned raccoon, a litter of kittens, a senior kitty, 2 pit puppies and a bird in safe hands. In June we networked 6 bottle baby kittens, reached out to help a chained dog in Mullica Hill, and transported (from Pennsylvania) pet food and pet items to a local animal shelter. July was a slow month as we began planning for our Fall event and continued to share donations with various rescues and shelters. We also created our shirts with our logo and motto on the back. They look wonderful. In August we helped an indoor kitty who found himself outside, was then attached by dogs and treed itself. We first tried to network someone in the area and offered resources and people to contact, but in the end we helped get him down and return him to the safety of his home. We also helped many people get resources for TNR, low cost vaccines and helped rescues (who are not in the area) conduct home visits right here in Ocean County. We hope they will now place their wonderful pets in the homes we visited and the rescues supported. Also during this month, Anastasia Arts and Crafts for Charity placed a bracelet up for bid which brought in some much needed funds. These bracelets are made by a young girl who cares very much about animal charities. Our main focus was on planning our PetOberfest which is scheduled for October 19th. We are so excited that so many rescues, shelters and groups are coming together for this event!!!! Since we are already into September, I will share some of the things we have been doing this month. We were VERY excited to put a team together to participate in Do It Duo for Pets 5K to benefit pets from Hurricane Sandy. What a great day that was!!! We will include some pictures! Can't wait until the PetOberfest!!!
