Every year thousands of people have to make the decision about caring for their family pet that has become sick with illness or disease.  The hope is the quality of life and best interest of the animal are at the forefront of their thinking.  But the reality is that some of those decisions are based on the cost the care will impose on their finances.  While pet insurance may help, a policy rarely covers all the expenses once an animal becomes seriously ill.
