SHE NEEDS YOUR HELP!

We were contacted by a family member of a senior citizen. They were concerned that their elderly parent could no longer care for their cat. We agreed to take this beautiful, 4-year-old Turkish Angora, named Ariel, into the rescue (see the photo above). We were told that she needed a good grooming. When Ariel arrived, we were a little surprised at her condition. After being shaved, we noticed that she had a nail that had grown into her paw pad. The nail had abscessed and was very painful for her. After removing the nail from the pad, she was bathed and that is when we noticed severe swelling in her gums and some obvious dental issues. Ariel was vaccinated, tested negative for Felv/FIV and was placed on an antibiotic. She is currently in a foster home and will need to go for blood work tomorrow. Once we have the results of the blood work, she will be scheduled for a dental consultation and may require a full mouth extraction based on how terrible her mouth looks.

We are NOT posting this for anyone to pass judgement regarding her previous care. We are posting this in hopes that our supporters will help us give Ariel the necessary care she needs to get back to being a healthy cat looking for a forever home.
